Dependable. That positioning makes XDC a plausible candidate for machine-to-machine settlement. Enterprises already use XDC for invoice financing and letter-of-credit flows. If AI agents become procurement tools inside those same enterprises, the chain sits in the right building. XDC also carries a history I remember well. The "new payment infrastructure layer" turns out to be an internal ledger inside an AI platform, not a settlement chain. In that world, XDC shrinks to final netting. Useful. Scarce. Boring. Not a token thesis. The final insight cuts against the skeptics and the believers. The near-term value may not stay with any single L1. The infrastructure that actually captures it will be horizontal: account abstraction standards, stablecoin settlement protocols, agent identity registries, dispute-resolution oracles. The chain underneath becomes a commodity. XDC could benefit as one of those commodities. But commodity pricing is not growth-stock logic. If the agentic economy scales to billions of transactions, a reliable low-cost rail wins volume. That is a good business for the foundation. It is not a reason to buy the native token at narrative-premium valuations. There is a simpler read. Look at what XDC must ship to make the narrative real. An agentic payment standard, beginning with a smart-contract wallet standard that supports delegated signing. A stablecoin ecosystem with licensed issuance, not just an ERC-20 variant. A verifiable identity layer that lets enterprises audit which agent executed which transaction. A dispute mechanism that can claw back funds from a prompt-injected wallet. Any of these would show up as code on the chain. None has. Not on mainnet. Not on testnet. The blockchain remembers what the founders forget. Announcements are soft state. Deployed contracts are hard state. I will watch the XDC ledger for smart-contract wallets that transact autonomously. I will watch for stablecoin contract registrations. I will watch for a single verified agent-to-agent payment settling on mainnet. When one appears, the narrative becomes an infrastructure thesis. Until then, the agentic finance announcement belongs to the digital graveyard of category-first marketing. The floor price of this trade is a narrative.
